Updated 14 September 2026. This statement explains how hooly handles information when you visit this website, contact us or book a meeting.
Who is responsible?
hooly is operated by Hooly BV, enterprise number 0759.743.095, Grote Negenbundersstraat 69, 3500 Hasselt, Belgium. For privacy questions or requests, contact kristof@hooly.be.
What we use and why
Our web server processes your IP address, request time, requested URL and browser information to deliver the website and investigate technical or security issues. This serves our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. If you email us or book a meeting, we process the contact details, appointment details and information you choose to provide to answer your enquiry and take steps towards a potential engagement, or for our legitimate interest in handling professional correspondence. Providing contact information is voluntary, but we need it to respond or arrange a meeting. We do not use this website for automated decisions about people or advertising analytics.
Google and other recipients
The website runs on Google Cloud in Belgium. Google also provides the optional Calendar booking service and our business email. Calendar is embedded only after you allow it; Google may then receive your IP address, browser/device details and interactions, and may use cookies or existing account identifiers. The embedded service follows Google's own privacy information. Clicking an external project or LinkedIn link takes you to another provider's website. Providers may process information outside the EEA under their applicable transfer safeguards. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your request.
How long we keep information
We retain correspondence and meeting information while needed to handle the enquiry or professional relationship, and longer where legal obligations or the establishment or defence of claims require it. Server logs are rotated and retained for up to 14 days on the server; backup copies can remain until the backup retention period ends. Routine disk backups have a seven-day retention period. Cookie choices expire after 180 days or can be changed sooner through Cookie settings.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent for the embedded calendar at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact kristof@hooly.be. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority.
Cookies and your choices
The public website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress may use essential cookies for administration, sign-in and security when you access those features. We store your choice in your browser's local storage under hooly-consent-v1 for up to 180 days. Optional Google Calendar content is disabled by default and is loaded only when you permit it and open the booking popup. You can keep using the site without enabling it, or contact us by email. Cookie settings lets you change your choice; withdrawing permission stops further embedded loading but cannot remove cookies already set by Google, which you can manage in your browser or Google account.
